Pacifier...few questions?

My daughter was a needy baby, and began using a pacifier at around 3 months. (She previously didnt go for it, but one day decided she'd take it) She isnt in the least attached to it now, but uses it on occasion, and does not need it to sleep. I havent tossed the ONE we have in the garbage yet, just...well..because. I think when you get rid of the bottle, you should get rid of the paci as well. (One year) I think "too old" is anything beyond a year because if *can* be weaned from a bottle or at one year, the paci should go as well.
