Live rock scare. Please help!?

I got my 29 gallon tank today along with a purple spotted reef lobster and began my process by putting in sand and my liverock. I then added four gallons of distilled (i made it salt also) water to the tank which includes a liverock and livesand only. Then, when my distilled water was used, I added some tap water and salt (all appropriate salt levels) and proceeded to dump 4 gallons of straight out of the tap (salt mixed of course) directly onto my live rock and let it sit for a few minuites before I realized that I had forgotten to add the dechlorinizer! I payed 30 bucks for the liverock and more for the sand It took me about seven minuites to realize what I had done and immediatly treated the water with proper chemicals. Please guys can you tell me if I have just ****** myself? I am so worried and have asthma and am really scared that I just destroyed my helpful bacteria and liverock inhabitants. Please respond fast this is my first tank and I am really scared best answer and five stars goes to whomever can tell me the most likely fate of my bacteria and the liverocks inhabitants. My daughter was a needy baby, and began using a pacifier at around 3 months. (She previously didnt go for it, but one day decided she'd take it) She isnt in the least attached to it now, but uses it on occasion, and does not need it to sleep. I havent tossed the ONE we have in the garbage yet, just...well..because. I think when you get rid of the bottle, you should get rid of the paci as well. I wouldn't recommend you to feed your puppy the wet can food since there has been a huge recall on them. I have 2 dogs and I used to feed them Eukanuba, but since there was recalled for wet food i switched to Science Diet. It seems that they love it. I am not sure if you mention how old is your puppy. If he/she is too young then you should not feed him/her any dry food since it will be hard for him/her to chew. I will recommend you to feed him/her some rice with meat and veggies. If not you can soak the dry dog food in little water before feeding so it becomes soft. I used to do that when my dogs were 1-2 month old.

Don't you think newborn babies are hideously ugly?

The majority of newborn babies DO look a little worse for wear - considering what they've been through, you wouldn't expect a lot else. C-section babies look slightly better to start off with, due to not being squeezed through the birth c. However, it all evens up and they all lose the bloated, blotchy look very soon! Having said that, not all newborns look 'ugly' - some do look quite cute!

You are right, most labs require that your image be converted to RGB before they get it or your colors will be off. You monitor can be calibrated with Spyder but then before you send the image out convert it back to RGB. Now it might look funny but it will look correct to their monitors and printers. Also you might just want to call ahead to the lab that you are getting them printed at and ask them what format the want. That way it saves you time having to go back and send another one if the first one is wrong. Good Luck and as always happy shooting! :)

Pulled over by police and charged for dangerous driving - what happens next?

Last night I was driving home from a friends about midnight. Near the end of the journey my heart sunk to see the flashing blue lights behind me. I pulled over and the police guys asked me to get into the back of their car. Unfortunately it appeared they had been following me for almost the whole journey :( seeing me overtake someone on a byp - they claimed I had been doing about 90mph. They had then followed me through a "resedential area" and claimed I had been doing over 40mph. (Which to my surprise seemed to be the thing they were most annoyed with and not the over taking) I tried to be as polite as I could and admitted I had been driving dangerously (in the hope they might just give me a warning or something). Unluckily however they decided they were going to charge me with dangerous driving and took my details and said alot of police mumbo jumbo involving court and whatever I say could be used against me etc lol. I'm just asking to see if anyone knows what I should expect next? Early Pregnancy Loss HELP..?

Okay Last Thursday I was 19dpo (possibly miscalculated). I tested and got a very faint positive but + nonetheless. I have a cyst on left ovary and see gyn regularly and have an appt for this week so I wasn't worried about calling the doctor as I was already going and would confirm then. It was CD31 and that is long for me although I have a longer and varying luteal phase. Anyways the night of BFP I wouldve been around 3-4 wks, I started having a dark brown spotting and I really thought nothing of it bc I often have that from the cyst. Anyways I got the most agonizing back ache. A spot on the lower right side hurt nonstop and horribly along with abdominal cramps. The next day the blood got heavier and brighter in color. I had really bad bad cramps and terrible headache w/ random thigh cramps nausea and I threw up once. My temp was normal but I was having hotflashes from hell and I am usually cold natured. Anyways sorry if TMI but I am freaking out, this is what I experienced when going to the bathroom this weekend: Thick mucous-y stringy blood thing like slowly sliding out when sitting on toilet. Feeling of lots of blood "falling" out of vag and had lots of tiny blood clots, and only once when I wiped there was a really small dark gray bean looking thing. How to cut wood with chainsaw?

When I buck wood with my saw, the saw weight should pull the bar and chain through the wood, right? For some reason, its not cutting that way. This coming from an agnostic, by the way. I just believe that since evolution is a theory — albeit a widely accepted theory — creationism is as well, and since there's no complete factual evidence to completely support either side, it would make sense to teach them side by side, not favoring either one. And no, creationism isn't necessarily "religious"; I know several people who are firm believers in intelligent design but reject any organized religion.

Work vs. Family relations -- what's your priority and balance?

I ask because I used to devote a lot of time and money to workplace relations, only to find that even profound relations with the most wonderful people at work turn hollow within a year or two after you've both moved to different jobs (whch is often, in this day and age). Since last year, I've made family a top priority because they're going to be with me forever. Still, it's hard to juggle the two because I prefer not to get too involved in a half-ed way with people when I feel it'll be a fleeting relationship, even if you do spend 10 hours a day with them. Can't afford treatment for my dog.?

I noticed a growth on my dogs the other day while giving him a bath. Its something that his tail and fur covered up but he lifted his tail while I was giving him a bath and I saw it. I called the vet and they said it might be something, but when I took him to the vet I found out that it was a tumor. Its rather i guess large and I think it makes it hard for him to use the bathroom. The surgery is 1000$ and I cannot afford it and even if I could they won't know until a bit after whether its a permanent fix. As of right now he seems to be normal but I don't know what to do. He doesn't seem to be in any pain at the moment but I don't know for sure. I know it has to make it uncomfortable for him to use the restroom, but again I cannot afford treatment. One of the main issues is that the tumor is I guess for a lack of a better term, leaking and it seems like a bloody messy discharge. I mean its not like dripping or anything, or like a faucet of bodily discharge but yeah its leaving like stains on his bed and stuff. So my I was considering Euthanizing him because he is 11 years old and because while he isn't in pain now I don't want to wait till he starts showing signs of pain to put him to sleep. I don't know what to do and I understand that asking random people might not help but I need to know is it wrong to want to keep him alive because I don't wanna lose him? Or by the same token is it wrong to euthanize a dog who isn't showing signs of pain but has a tumor impeding his bodily functions? I love my dog very much and he has been a great friend and pet and I don't wanna lose him, but the tumor is pretty bad and like I said he is bleeding/discharging some sort of fluid that isn't getting everywhere like a mess but is staining his blanket. I am not sure what to do :(

Why dont alligators attack when walking down a path?

i was in everglades national park couple of years ago walking down the main path, and they were on either side of the pathway without a fence to protect the park visitors. nobody seemed concerned, but that false sense of security could stem from the visitors expectations of public safety. something you cannot take for granted in most parts of the world. what's the story here? do alligators hate asphalt? or the heat coming off the asphalt? or is it that intrinsic respect that most animals have for humans? i couldn't find a ranger to ask before we had to leave.

When you visit a bar instead of a church, the bartender does not place a visitors badge on you, nor will people at the bar run over to shake your hand, they are mature people that will nod, or just say a simple hi, or nice day, and let you keep your personal privacy, for what that's worth anymore. People that think they are just full of goodness, just do not consider to mind their own business,and just make you know, how good persons they are. The bottom of a pitching rotation is tricky because basically you are playing the hot pitcher at the right time. Contreras is a very streaky pitcher throughout his career but right now, he is on the good streak so it would not be smart to drop him. Litsch is a great young pitcher with good stuff and I wouldn't drop him just yet either. If I am dropping anyone from that staff, its definitely Lester because he has shown he is extremely inconsistent. He has pitched great games this year followed up by terrible game, and to me, unpredictability is not what you want on your staff.

heat fix the specimens, if you want to get a really interesting specimen go buy some agar plates and swab the inside of your nose, then plate the specimen on the agar plat using the pure culture technique, you cold look it up online to see how to do it, then let it grow for a few days, when you get a colony to grow, probably going to be staph, get a piece of metal and run it through some fire to sterilize it, then get a drop of water and put it on the slide, then sterilize the wire again and get some of your staph off the plate and put it on the slide and mix it around in the water, after that you should take the slide and run it through the fire just until its too hot to hold on the the top of you skin, dont over heat fix it, then add you dye and look at it under the microscope, you do not need a slide cover, you might beable to see it with your microscope. :)) have fun.

What the heck happened to my little girl?????

OK....my daughter, who will be 4 months on the 15th has just about got me over the edge. She started sleeping through the night at about 2 months old..give or take a week. She has never really slept during the day..maybe an hour here or an hour there. Sometimes(maybe once a week) she will take a 3 hour nap. For the last week and a half....I am lucky if she sleeps more than 20 minutes 3 times a day!!!!! Also, she started waking up at 4 in the morning...just screaming...I mean SCREAMING!!!!!! If I give the pacifier to her, she will settle down for maybe 45 minutes. Well, actually she always wakes up screaming now....no matter when it is. This is a baby that usually goes to be between 8:30 and 9:00 and sleeps until 6:30 or 7:00 the next morning., and wakes up fussy. She is definately eating well. She isn't sick, as far as I can tell....so what could this be...any ideas or suggestions at all would be wonderful!!! Thanks in advance.

Pitbulls and Doberman are both very intelligent dogs. Doberman no longer have the drive to become protection dogs, so if he's looking for a protection type dog, the Doberman isn't it. It may bark and flash teeth, but it won't do much more than that. Some pitbulls have what it takes to become protection dogs with the proper training, but without seeing the dog in question I can't speak on it. You have the right idea, you want a pet, a beagle is a good dog for it's intended purpose. They're less likely to be fear biters (like the doberman) and less likely to be dog aggressive (like the pitbull), they're pretty much happy go lucky dogs. They're pretty stubborn, some people say they're dumb but I disagree. They're scent hounds, and they follow their nose, that's what they've been bred to do, and they'll do it, unless extensively trained otherwise.
