Are Evolution and Creationism/Intelligent Design mutually exclusive?

Evolution is based in science (the search for evidence-supported fact). Creationism/ID is based in faith (belief without evidence... if you need proof, you don't really have faith). Are these just "apples and oranges", are they mutually exclusive or can they both be right?
